“They wanted the house to have a hunting-lodge feel, and for it to look as good as a boutique hotel… The first thing I did was rework the floor plan, opening up rooms so the front door opens directly into the open-plan living area and kitchen. We removed the existing ceiling and lifted the roof line as high as possible. The new ceiling was lined with timber boards to create a country ambience.”
